About Us



Kiya Olson, M.A., CEO

Kiya has had the opportunity to work with children from various backgrounds since 1998. She has worked with typically developing, abused/neglected, and special needs children.

In 2002 she completed her masters degree in developmental psychology and began working exclusively with children with special needs. Her primary focus has been children on the Autism Spectrum, but she has also seen children with Down Syndrome, Sensory Integration Disorder, and Fragile X. Since then she has made it her mission to improve the quality of life for all children.

Over the years Kiya has received training in Floortime, TEACCH, PECS, behavior modification, discrete trial training, Handwriting Without Tears, Teach Me Language, Touch Math, and RDI. In addition she is also a credentialed early intervention developmental therapist through the state of Illinois.




Katie Howe, M.A., LPC

Katie has been working in the social service field since graduating with her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice/Psychology from Illinois State University in 2000. She began her career at Linden Oaks Behavioral Center as a Mental Health Counselor working with child and adolescent in-patients. Katie continued her career in the social service arena as a Probation Officer for Kane County Court Services over the next seven years.

Katie is well versed in the areas of criminal justice, domestic violence, substance abuse and addictions. In 2009, Katie obtained her Master of Art in Counseling Psychology from Lewis University. Katie has counseled clients from all types of backgrounds. Katie is extremely passionate about her work and her clients. Katie believes in each individual’s unique ability to change and adapt.

Katie has practiced in the areas of individual, group and family therapy. Katie uses theories and techniques associated with cognitive-behavioral, intrapersonal, and psychodynamic theories. Katie counsels clients from a perspective that is tailored to meet the needs of the individual client and their families as no two clients are alike. Katie is looking forward to working as a consultant with Autism Service Provider and Beyond. Katie is currently licensed as Professional Counselor in the State of Illinois.



Jessica Winkler-Steinkamp, B.A.
Developmental Therapist


Since graduating with a degree in psychology from the University of Iowa in 2007, Jessica has worked primarily with special needs children and their families. She has had the opportunity to work with children ages 3-14 with a variety of needs in various settings including classrooms, homes and the community. She was also a lead teacher in a life skills/vocational classroom where she developed and implemented individual educational and behavioral programs for her students.
Jessica has received training in many different areas such as TEACCH, PECS, discrete trial, teaching independent/play skills, toilet training, communicative functions of behavior, visual strategies and communication training
Jessica joined ASPB in 2008 as an ABA Therapist, where she has worked closely with children and their families, providing a wide range of specialized one-to-one services.
