Kiya has had the opportunity to work with children
from various backgrounds since 1998. She has worked with typically developing,
abused/neglected, and special needs children.
In 2002 she completed her masters degree in developmental psychology and began
working exclusively with children with special needs. Her primary focus has been
children on the Autism Spectrum, but she has also seen children with Down
Syndrome, Sensory Integration Disorder, and Fragile X. Since then she has made
it her mission to improve the quality of life for all children.
Over the years Kiya has received training in Floortime, TEACCH, PECS, behavior
modification, discrete trial training, Handwriting Without Tears, Teach Me
Language, Touch Math, and RDI. In addition she is also a credentialed early
intervention developmental therapist through the state of Illinois.
